I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living
Psalm 27:13
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23:6
For the fruit of the spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.
Ephesians 5:9
Hello Good and Gracious Survivor!
Positive possibilities are everywhere, even in things that are not so positive like being sexually abused or violated. Whatever has happened, whatever may be, there is good that can come from it.
Weakness is an opportunity to become stronger and ignorance is an opportunity to learn. Each challenge to move forward toward healing can push you to improve your effectiveness. But you must stay the course and never give up for one day you will be delivered and healed.
When guilt or self-blame are expressed as a result of the abuse, this is the time to look deep within yourself and gather your inner strength to heal. Pray and ask God to grant you an understanding of why this happened to you. Not only will He answer, but He will show you the goodness to come from the attack or event. But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. (Gen. 50:20) God has chosen you to go through this test to give you a testimony that will bless others.
So don't let yourself by discouraged by the shortcomings and disappointments that may happen in your life. Instead, quickly look for the positive opportunities in them. Always remember that no matter what the situation may be, there is good that can come from it. And you can be the person to bring that goodness to life.
With love,
