Welcome to Phynyx Ministries!

Hello Beautiful Survivor!

Welcome to Phynyx Ministries, a place where you can obtain lots of helpful information to help you break your silence and begin to heal from being sexually assaulted. If you are not a Sexual Assault Survivor, perhaps you know someone who is. Please feel free to share this website with that person. This website is also a place where Survivor's can share their story, a poem, or words of encouragement with a survivor or anyone who chooses to visit our site.

I praise God for allowing me to survive being sexually assaulted because I now know what my purpose in this life is - and that is to be an example to those survivors who may feel that they can't move forward with their lives in a positive way. There was a time in my life when I thought that I'd never leave the confines of my mother's bedroom which was where I retreated after the attack. But I continued to pray to God for strength, peace, and sanity. I sought professional treatment and had an awesome support system.

It's been 15 years since that cold November night, but today I am happily married, have two beautiful daughters, and living life to the fullest. The road to recovery is not easy, but I made it and you can as well. Don't get me wrong, I still have flashbacks from time to time, but I've learned not to let them consume me. I know who I am and what I'm worth...I'm worth more than my attacker thought I was and like the Phoenix, I will continue to rise.

With love,
Phynyxx Skyy

Don't Stay Where You've Been...

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1

We live by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7

We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints--the faith and love that springs from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth.
Colossians 1:3-5

Hello Beautiful!

The wonderful poem below was written by one of my dear sisters in Christ.  She uses the experiences in her life to create inpirational poetry to help someone along the way.  This poem was written with the love of God and spoke to my heart as I read it through the eyes of a Survivor.  Don't stay where you've been.  Although you were victimized; you must break your silence in order to move forward with your life and live again.  You can and you will!!!

With love,
Phynyxx Skyy

When we wake up each morning
God should get all of the Glory
‘cause if our eyes don’t open
a pastor will tell our story

Would they say that we dwelled on
 where we’ve been
Or will they say that we trusted God
as our most valued friend

If we stay in the past
the future may never manifest
our destiny will be unclear
and our blessings would be less

To move forward one must step
into the future with great expectation
 and stay focused on the
Word to get a REVELATION

Remember God knows us but he wants
us to know him
we may never know where we’re going
if we stay where we’ve been

We must rid ourselves of things that
cause us pain and
use prayer and worship as an antidote
and strength we will gain

The time for new beginnings is
right now
we must keep our heads
positioned to forever bow

If living in hell is where you’ve been
unlock yourself from misery-its not your friend
instead lock into the sanctity of God that’s within

Feelings of Betrayal...

It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in man.
Psalm 118:8

Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you.” But Jesus said, “Peter, let me tell you something. The rooster will not crow tomorrow morning until you have denied three times that you even know me.”
Luke 22:33-34

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:31-32

Hello Beautiful!

Perhaps you or someone you know has survived being sexually assaulted or sexually abused by someone very close to them.  Maybe it was your (her) father, brother, uncle, cousin, boyfriend, or husband.  Once you have suffered through any form of sexual assault, your life has been changed on a profound level.  Survivors have many different reactions to sexual assault.  These reactions may include:
  •  Shock and numbness
  • Confusion
  • Low self-worth
  • Shame
  • Guilt or self-blame
  • Fear
  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Betrayal
Webster's dictionary defines the word betrayal as to disappoint the hopes or expectations of; be disloyal to: to betray one's friends.  It also defines it as to be unfaithful in guarding, maintaining, or fulfilling: to betray a trust.  If you are feeling betrayed by someone you trusted who committed this horrific act of violence against you, please understand that you can overcome this feeling a well as the others listed above with professional assistance and the word of God.  Sometimes we realize that we cannot trust a particular person; however, we can always trust God. All of us will fail at some time. God will not.

These feelings can go on for years and often get worse over time without help.  May women turn to drugs and alcohol as a way to cope.  Others may act out sexually (be promiscuous) or allow themselves to be in situations where they may be sexually assaulted again.  It may take a while for you to realize the full impact of the assault.  You may not be ready for help right away, but the sooner you start to deal with your feelings, the sooner you will get stronger and feel better about your life and begin to trust again.

A Little Morning Inspiration...

Good Morning Beautiful!

Here are two quotes that spoke to my heart this morning and I thought I'd share with you.  Please take a moment to check them out and be inspired!

Never Think Hard about PAST,
It brings Tears...
Don’t Think more about FUTURE,
It brings Fears...
Live this Moment with a Smile,
It brings Cheers.!!!!

Every test in our life makes us bitter or better,
Every problem comes to make us or break us,
Choice is ours whether we become victim or victorious !!!

Choose to move from crisis to confidence, from hopeless to hopeful, and from victim to survivor to overcomer!!!

The choice is yours...God loves you and so do I!!!
With Love,
Phynyxx Skyy

The Positive Power of Happiness...

Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long, And in Your righteousness they are exalted.
Psalms 89:15-16

These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
John 15:11

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
 Nehemiah 8:10

Hello Happy and Joyful Survivor!

It is simple and easy to be happy. The hard part is convincing yourself, and getting past your own resistance to happiness.

You might assume that just because you have been sexually assaulted or abused, there is no possibility of happiness. Yet that assumption is entirely mistaken. You know precisely how to be happy, how to create the feeling of happiness within yourself and how to express it within any context at any time. You’ve done it many times in a whole lot of different situations.Your happiness does not come from the moment, or the surroundings, or even from the people around you. It comes from you, and from your decision to feel its positive power and to just be happy!

Go ahead and skip right over all those reasons why you can’t be happy and cancel that pity party that you have planned for yourself.  Instead, think of the times when you have been happy and recall the strategy you’ve always used to bring that happiness to life.  Activate that very same strategy right now; tap into that positive energy within.  Bring the positive power of your own happiness to this very moment.  Don't let your past steal your present...choose happiness and choose to live!

With Love,
Phynyxx Skyy

You Are Fearless...

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Deuteronomy 31:7

Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which is good in his sight.
1 Chronicles 22:13

Hello Fearless Survivor!

You have great courage. Use it.  Whenever you feel fear, you are also feeling your potential for courage. Go ahead, feel the fear, and then let that courage of yours spring to life.  The fact that you can feel the fear means you also have the courage to get beyond it. Otherwise, the fear would serve no useful purpose and God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).  Put that fear to good use by allowing it to ignite your courage. Put that courage to good use by utilizing it to move toward positive, meaningful objectives.  Feel the fear and know it means you have courage. Learn from that fear and then step forward with all that courage.  The beginning of courage feels like fear. Follow through on that feeling, let the courage come, and with it you will achieve great things in 2012.  Let this be your best year ever!!!

With love,
Phynyxx Skyy
