Welcome to Phynyx Ministries!

Hello Beautiful Survivor!

Welcome to Phynyx Ministries, a place where you can obtain lots of helpful information to help you break your silence and begin to heal from being sexually assaulted. If you are not a Sexual Assault Survivor, perhaps you know someone who is. Please feel free to share this website with that person. This website is also a place where Survivor's can share their story, a poem, or words of encouragement with a survivor or anyone who chooses to visit our site.

I praise God for allowing me to survive being sexually assaulted because I now know what my purpose in this life is - and that is to be an example to those survivors who may feel that they can't move forward with their lives in a positive way. There was a time in my life when I thought that I'd never leave the confines of my mother's bedroom which was where I retreated after the attack. But I continued to pray to God for strength, peace, and sanity. I sought professional treatment and had an awesome support system.

It's been 15 years since that cold November night, but today I am happily married, have two beautiful daughters, and living life to the fullest. The road to recovery is not easy, but I made it and you can as well. Don't get me wrong, I still have flashbacks from time to time, but I've learned not to let them consume me. I know who I am and what I'm worth...I'm worth more than my attacker thought I was and like the Phoenix, I will continue to rise.

With love,
Phynyxx Skyy

Repost from August 2011: Self-worth...do you know your value???

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Before I formed your in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart, says the Lord.
Jeremiah 1:5

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Psalm 139:13-14

Hello Precious Survivor,

Do you know that you are more precious than silver or gold, diamonds or emeralds, rubies or pearls? You are worth more to God than any materialistic item in this whole universe. He created you to do his will; to carry out your assignment He laid before you.

Being sexually assaulted caused me to have little to no self-worth. I felt lower that dirt; my self-esteem had hit rock bottom as did everything else. I felt fat and very unattractive--like everyone who looked at me knew that I had been victimized. So I began to not care less and less about my appearance. Afterall, no one man would ever fall in love with a sexual assault survivor right? After months of wallowing in self-pity and being advised by my family members, I began to yet again, pray to God to help me regain my self-worth. I'd pray, "Lord, I am your humble servant coming before you just one more time. Lord, I know that you know what I am going through right now so there's no need to explain. Jesus, I just need you to help me get back to me. Whatever it takes, I just need to get back to my old self; the happy Neicy with the big Kool-Aid smile. Please help me Lord, I can't do this without you. I ask these an all blessings in the precious name of Jesus. My soul says Amen, Amen, and Amen.

It took some time to rebuild my self-esteem, but I did it with the help of the Lord and so can you. Remember I mentioned that no man would ever fall in love with a sexual assault survivor? Well a man did. And not just any man, but a saved, sanctified man-of-God fell in love with me; Thank you Jesus! So, just ask the Lord to help you and He will. Never forget that I support you and I believe in you.

With love,
Phynyxx Skyy

So you are no longer a slave, but a daughter; and since you are a daughter, God has made you also an heir.

Morning Prayer...

Good morning Beautifu!

You're on my heart and mind. Know that the God that you serve knows. Every negative emotion and contention will fall under the subjection of the power of Christ. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid. What do we say to these things, ye in ALL things we are more than conquerors. Be encouraged and know that you are loved. The weight on your shoulders will be lifted in Jesus Name. Your mind will have clarity of thought and precision of thought to think and move through the process. You are not bound but free for who the son sets free is free indeed. No stress. You are blessed and not cursed. Beautiful and ugly. You are powerful not weak. You are helpful not selfish. You are who God says you are. You are special and God loves you. Remain steadfast in his peace for the day is not yours but it belongs to him, let him handled EVERY situation and circumstance. Peace be unto you In Jesus Name, Amen.

God Set Me Free...

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
John 8:36

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the laws of sin and death.
Romans 8:2

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:1

Hello Beautiful!

Sometimes God allows people to cross our paths to be a blessing to not only us but those who are connected to us in one way or another.  My dear sister Blanche is one who I felt a connection to the very first time I met her, but I couldn't figure out what that connection was.  One day, I sent her an email with a link to phynyxministries.com which was a blog posting of my Sexual Assault Survival Story and she replied, "...I guess you've figured it out that I'm a Survivor too."  THIS WAS THE CONNECTION!!!

Since that day we've been helping each other in our healing process through email, prayer, and conversation.  Sometimes, it really helps to know that you are not alone; that there are others who have been or currently are in the same situation. Just knowing that there are others who share your pain can make it a little easier to bear.

My sister, I pray that this poem blesses your spirit as it has blessed mine, because God has set me free from the bondage of anger, depression, loneliness, guilt and low-self esteem.  You can be set free as well if you break your silence.  It's the first step toward healing...

With love,
Phynyxx Skyy

God Set Me Free

God never forsakes us or leaves us begging
for bread
our flesh is a weak; we must be spirit lead.
To be guided one must see what God
has for us
the enemy is blinding; he replaces trust.
He’ll convince us that we need drugs and
alcohol
to forget the sexual abuse committed
by a scum ball.
We must think of ourselves as the chosen one
who was sacrificed like the only begotten son.
In no way are our situations parallel
but surely we all did survive a living hell.
That’s why we must “forgive” them for they
know not what they do
and that’ll release the psychological control
hanging over you.
God is our Sheppard who restores souls
we have been assigned to help others
by our stories being told.
Always see sunshine on a rainy day
‘cause “time heals all” is not a cliché.
Engrave this in your mind and repeat everyday:
it’s been many years since you violated me
but I’m a survivor not a victim cause…

GOD SET ME FREE!

There Is Always Hope...

Put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailinglove and with him is full redemption.
Psalm 130:7

Know also that wisdom is sweet to your foul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.
Proverbs 24:14

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
2 Thessolonians 2:16-17

Hello Beautiful!

Sometimes it seems that all news is bad.  Sometimes it seems that the world around you is tumbling hopelessly downhill and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it.

Yet that is never the case.  For the more difficult life becomes, the more motivated everyone becomes to make real, substantial, positive changes.

Nothing is ever as bad as it seems.  Because when situations become difficult, people become determined to make it better.

And when enough people become determined enough, good and positive and valuable things begin to happen.  Hope, which may have previously been nearly impossible to see, begins to spring into action.

When the darkness become unbearable, someone will step forward and shine a light.  And that light will inspire others, and others, and others.  Will it be you?

Hope is always there.  The more it is needed, the more powerful and effective it becomes.

With love,
Phynyxx Skyy

Goodness Can Come From It...

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living
Psalm 27:13

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23:6

For the fruit of the spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.
Ephesians 5:9

Hello Good and Gracious Survivor!
Positive possibilities are everywhere, even in things that are not so positive like being sexually abused or violated.  Whatever has happened, whatever may be, there is good that can come from it.

Weakness is an opportunity to become stronger and ignorance is an opportunity to learn.  Each challenge to move forward toward healing can push you to improve your effectiveness.  But you must stay the course and never give up for one day you will be delivered and healed.

When guilt or self-blame are expressed as a result of the abuse, this is the time to look deep within yourself and gather your inner strength to heal.  Pray and ask God to grant you an understanding of why this happened to you.  Not only will He answer, but He will show you the goodness to come from the attack or event.  But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. (Gen. 50:20)  God has chosen you to go through this test to give you a testimony that will bless others.

So don't let yourself by discouraged by the shortcomings and disappointments that may happen in your life.  Instead, quickly look for the positive opportunities in them.  Always remember that no matter what the situation may be, there is good that can come from it.  And you can be the person to bring that goodness to life.

With love,
Phynyxx Skyy

Go Red For Women Today...

Phynxyx Ministries supports National Wear Red Day, the American Heart Association and all Women who suffer with heart disease.  Unfortunately, almost every adult woman in my family has it; even me.

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure in May of 2006 after a bout with chest pains and my heart slowing down.  I spent a few days in the hospital and had a number of tests performed on me before being told that I have high blood pressure.  I've seen numerous cardiologists, but no one has been able to tell me what the heart issue is.  I've been on 2 medications; one for the hypertension and the other for the "Heart Issue" since that time.

I have since changed my eating habits, added Zumba to my weekly exercise regimen and lost 30 lbs. However, I still must take the medications, just at very low dosages...PRAISE GOD!!!  Ladies, by all means please make healthier food choices and add at least 30 minutes of activity to your day.  Zumba is a fun way to exercise you way to a healthier life!!!

Phynyxx Skyy

God is Love...

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God loves in us and his love is made complete in us.
1 John 4:12

If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.  Ans so we know and rely on the love God has for us.  God is love.  Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
1 John 4:15-16

Hello Lovely Survivor:

Below is a excerpt from Joyce Meyer's new book, "Love Out Loud", submitted by my dear Sister-In-Christ Kesha Boston in hopes that it will be a blessing to each and every person that reads in.

I am urging you to make this the main focus of you life and do it loud; be bold about it, pursue it, and seek it eagerly.  Learn everything you can about what genuine love is.  God is love, and we can never know true love apart from Him.  He wants to pour His love into you until you are completely whole and secure in Him.  Whether our pain is spiritual (note: church hurt-I am inserting that to bring a face to spiritual pain); emotional, mental, or physical, God's unconditional love is the healing ointment we need."

A few words from Phynyx Ministries...

I ask, are you feeling the love today?  If not, why don't you just let love touch you and heal you.  Let love lift you and inspire you .  Let love ease your worries and calm your fears.  Let love give you a reason to persist.  Let love fill you with courage and confidence and positive purpose to break free of the strongholds over you life as a result of being sexually assaulted.  Let love fill you with peace.

When your mind is tied in knots with anger, frustration or anxiety, let love wash those negative thoughts away.  Feel love, and feel much better.  Feel love, and feel an empowering connection to God.  Give love, and give the best of who you are.  Let love be, in all its splendor.  Let love live and grow in you always.

I pray that this word has blessed you in one way or another.  Please feel free to pass it long to a loved one so that they too might be blessed as well.  I would be honored if you did!

With love,
Phynyxx Skyy
