God's word is the true source of comfort. There are probably a whole host of people in your life that can offer a very good encouraging word...parents, siblings, best friends, mentors, pastors, co-workers, and even strangers but to receive true comfort and relief for what's going on with you, His word for your life will comfort you the best; you just have to be patient enough to wait on it and have the faith to follow it. This was an on-time word as me and my family are mourning the death of my Uncle Dennis who passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from lung and throat cancer. Sometimes, all you have is God and his word to stand on. God will give you His peace that surpasses all understanding if you just ask Him in the name of Jesus. I've been doing just that to help keep my family in these trying times but this too shall pass. God will never leave nor forsake you; even when you feel that you are alone, you're not. God is ever present, especially in the time of trouble. Beloved, just call on Him and he will answer.
